Currently the Programme Manager at Farm491 Ali’s career spans a range of agri sectors including research, commercial and social enterprises. His career began at John Innes Research Institute as Higher Scientific Officer and then moved to Brinkman Horticultural Services.

The journey continued at Saphire Produce as Crop Specialist charged with developing an all year-round fresh legume production and availability schedule for UK supermarkets. He then ran his own nut processing business for 16 years and previously worked as Deputy Head of Enterprise and Innovation Centre at University of Bath managing the SETSquared Bath Business Incubation unit.

As the global population continues to rise, the seriousness of the challenges to the food supply chain and the subsequent environmental impacts should not be underestimated. We at Farm491 are on a journey of supporting and nurturing innovative agricultural technologies with solutions to these challenges that will guarantee the availability of nutritious and affordable food for all whilst preserving the planet''s health and wellbeing for future generations.
