About Dr Charles Trotman
Charles Trotman is CLA’s Senior Rural Business and Economics Adviser. He is responsible for rural economic policy and is the lead for the CLA on trade and labour issues resulting from Brexit. He also has responsibility for the development of the CLA’s policy position regarding rural development.
As the UK prepares to leave the EU, the issue of funding for rural development has become crucial. This seminar will provide an overview of the present arrangements for EU grants in the rural economy. It will outline current developments for grant funding in a post-Brexit world and assess both the challenges and the opportunities that will be faced by rural businesses. It will also consider how this will impact on changing economic and political developments.
